The Team

The team's mission is to support the rapidly growing Instant Ink Subscription Business by providing the platform that drives engagement and communication with our 12M customers. We're the domain experts in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and all the things it touches. We're always looking for ways to improve our processes and move more quickly while ensuring our end-users get the best experience. The Role

This experienced leader will manage an agile engineering team of 6-8 engineers and admins, focused on developing and maintaining our Marketing Cloud instance, advancing its capabilities, and optimizing operations. This individual is responsible for maintaining and growing our engineering team, leading development of custom applications, up-leveling our engineering maturity, ensuring scalability of platform architecture, and maintaining security and privacy best practices. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience in Marketing Cloud and the Salesforce ecosystem delivering high quality engineering solutions with hands-on development and administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the existing systems landscape and provide guidance on optimization and automation.
  • Partner with Customer Lifecycle Management Team in executing subscriber engagement and retention campaigns.
  • Actively manage our support process and issue response.
  • Work alongside the team to define code review, design and implementation standards to ensure we build for efficiency, scale, compliance, and maintainability.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and documentation are followed to meet security and compliance requirements across all systems.

Requirements

  • Typically, 10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4 years' experience directly leading and developing a team of Salesforce / Marketing Cloud developers and administrators.
  • Expert level Marketing Cloud knowledge (4 years). Has successfully evolved and managed atleast 2 to 3 complex Marketing Cloud / Salesforce projects across development and operations.
  • Experience in architecting, designing, and maintaining full stack solutions using Salesforce Platform.
  • Hands on experience managing customer journey emails and Text messaging strategies using standard Customer Data Platform and Email Service provider.
  • Leadership
    • Exceptional leadership skills with experience leading change and building organizational capabilities.
    • Experienced people manager who is eager to coach employees, helping them improve their technical and non-technical skills and grow their careers. Has worked extensively with virtual teams.
    • Ability to understand and anticipate business needs, organize, prioritize, and delegate to ensure the success of multiple initiatives in a timely manner.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work through complex technical situations with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Technology:
    • Have a strong focus on solid architectural principles.
    • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
    • Understand and build/run systems that meet and exceed compliance recommendations (GDPR, etc.). Experience partnering with privacy/security engineers to design solutions that adhere to internal guidelines while meeting business needs.
    • Experience with data migration and integration techniques and tools.
    • Experience working Agile/Scrum based teams.
    • Knowledge of Amp Script, APIs, SQL, HTTP/HTTPS, HTML/CSS JSON and EAI processesto build customized solutions that support critical business functions.
    • Data Warehouse, SQL and SOSQL proficiency

Nice to have:

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications
  • Familiarity of Medallia platform, Stensul, and Miro Boards platforms a plus.
  • Project management experience, training, or certifications.
  • In depth knowledge of product/solution lifecycle and knowledge management.
  • Experience with Cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Hands on experience in Development using triggers, batch processes, remote actions, future methods, Web Services API, Rest API, SOAP APIs for implementing web services.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $116,900 to $180,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
