Per the Washington statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in Vancouver, at the time of this posting, is $144,000 to $176,000. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.

eHP is making a big investment in improving customer experience, and you can be part of it! This Data Scientist role is responsible for helping build advanced data analysis tools and automated analytics using machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will develop and provide the tools needed for other Business Analysts on the team to dive into the data for insights and recommendations that can be shared back to internal partners - to improve the customers' experience using HP products and services. You will partner closely with other Data Scientists and Data Analysts on the team - not only to assist the Business Analysts - but to also drive our customer experience data-centric initiatives forward. The role is part of HP's Customer Experience Organization and will focus on a variety of different products and end-to-end experiences over time. So, flexibility and eagerness to learn new areas of the business are required for success!

You will develop statistical modelling and prediction algorithms based on a variety of customer experience data types and sources. These algorithms will help us make predictions and determine where the largest opportunities for improving our customers' experiences are. You will help build the tools that our internal stakeholders use for detailed analysis and continue to refine and improve them on an ongoing basis to meet their evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply data science and statistical methods and experimentation to analyze customer behavior and share insights with the business groups
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and deploy mechanisms to automate CX data and reports
  • Present results and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including senior leadership based upon analytical findings
  • Mines data using modern tools and programming languages.
  • Defines and implements models to uncover patterns and predictions creating business value and innovation.
  • Manages relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data driven innovation, provide domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.
  • Ties insights into effective visualizations communicating business value and innovation potential.
  • Maintains proficiency within the data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts.
  • Leads project team(s) of data science professionals, assuring insights are communicated regularly and effectively, reviewing designs, models and accuracy and data compliance.
  • Collaborates and communicates with project team regarding project progress and issue resolution.
  • Communicates and drives data insights/innovation into the business.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Should be a self-starter with the ability to consistently deliver with minimal supervision
  • Extensive experience using statistics, mathematics, algorithms and programming languages to solve big data challenges.
  • Fluent in structured and unstructured data, its management, and modern data transformation methodologies.
  • Ability to define and create complex models to pull valuable insights, predictions and innovation from data.
  • Effectively and creatively tell stories and create visualizations to describe and communicate data insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Mathematical skills
  • Theoretical and applied skills in Machine Learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights and negotiate options at senior management levels
  • Proven track record of experience in data science
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a global team

Scope & Impact

  • Collaborates with peers, junior engineers, data scientists and project team.
  • Typically interacts with high- level Individual Contributors, Managers, Directors and Program Core Teams.
  • Leads multiple projects requiring data engineering solutions development.
  • Drives design innovation.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Typically 6-10 years' experience including graduate or postgraduate research.
  • Proficiency in coding language - Python (preferred) and R.
  • Experience with Data Wrangling and Exploratory Data Analysis.
  • "Learning" experience (machine learning, deep learning, supervised/unsupervised learning, are some examples of "learnings" they should be familiar with).
  • Experience with machine learning methodologies such as clustering, regression, classification, forecasting, and anomaly detection.
  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NPL).
  • Experience with SQL/MySQL, Databricks, Spark/PySpark.
  • Creating Visualizations - Power BI or equivalent.
  • Experience with Telemetry analysis is a plus.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
