Job Posting for Medical Billing Specialist at HPW Center for Diabetes
We are looking to hire a Full-Time Billing Specialist for our expanding office. Job duties will include: sending out insurance claims, claims follow-up, posting insurance payments, answering phones, taking payments over the phone, assisting patients with questions regarding statements. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm. Billing/medical field experience preferred.
Billing Specialist duties and responsibilities:
- Entering claims and charges
- Insurance follow-ups
- answering phones and assisting patients with billing issues and payments.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience and empathy.
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills.
- Organization, time management and prioritization abilities.
- Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of patient or customer information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Background in Insurance follow-up, claims and payment posting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

- Medical coding: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)

- Medical records: 1 year (Preferred)
