EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Clear View School & Day Treatment Center (Clear View) is currently seeking a
Executive Director who will provide strategic vision and operational planning for
Clear View’s future, articulating that vision in partnership with the Board, staff and community stakeholders.
Many of the Executive Directors responsibilities involve organization-wide leadership. Guided by the organization’s student-focused mission, values the
Executive Director will build upon the successes and high standards of excellence in programs and operating systems.
About Clear View
The Clear View School opened with five small classes on January 2, 1968 in a small wood frame building in Pelham Manor under the direction of founder, William T.
Barnes. It was then the only day school for emotionally disabled children in
Westchester County, and one of the first in the country. For more than five decades the staff has helped hundreds of children grow, learn, heal and lead productive lives.

Overall Leadership Responsibilities
Enacting Mission and Vision: Maintain alignment between all programs and the overall vision, mission, and core values of Clear View School.
Organizational Leadership: Develop, maintain, and enhance all aspects of Clear View
School to ensure positive outcomes for students and a strong, collaborative professional culture.
Strategic Planning and Implementation: Consistently plan for efforts to achieve the strategic outcomes of all aspects of organizational health and growth, including but not limited to program goals, child development, health and wellness, support services, organizational stability, and financial strength.
Board Work: Report to the board and maintain a positive, working relationship with the Board. It is incumbent upon the ED to keep the Board informed of all financial and legal matters, and to work with board members on the various committees.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
The qualified candidate will have senior level managerial/administrative/leadership experience that includes some combination of childhood development or education, learning, or working in school programs in diverse settings.
- Master Degree in business administration, nonprofit management or related field.
- Previous successful experience in senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop people and achieve outcome- driven goals.
- Superior understanding of financial strategies and related performance metrics.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Knowledge of best practices in management and governance.
- Track record of building collaborative relationships within and among a diverse group of stakeholders which may include government officials at the state or local level, nonprofit and business leaders is highly desirable.
