Position Summary: The Head Technician will work with the Knitting Manager and Knitting Technical Manager in developing and conducting training for all knitting personnel for continuous improvement. The Head Technician will troubleshoot machine problems with shift mechanics and supervisors and oversee major machine breakdowns.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists the Knits Technical Manager in developing training procedures for the Knitting Mechanics.
Assists in the training and development of Knitting Mechanics.
Assists the Knitting Mechanics and Supervisors in troubleshooting various machine problems.
Responsible for one-point training for all mechanics and all knitters on a weekly basis.
Make recommendations/suggestions on ideas to improve production and first quality output.
Actively participates in major overhauls and machine rebuilds and trains Knitting Mechanics to the knit training procedures.
Works with Manager using the BMS monitoring system to improve efficiency and downtime.
Follow all safety procedures and policies; advise management of any unsafe conditions.
Keep work area neat and clean.
Other duties as requested by the Manager.
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
Associate must possess strong technical knowledge of the operation of double knit knitting machines, Mayer and Monarch.
Associate must display good communication with production floor personnel and the management team.
Associate must keep the Knitting Manager informed of any issues concerning production and quality.
Related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic computer proficiency.
Related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Reporting to This Position: Position has no direct reports; indirectly-Supervisors and Mechanics.
