About the Role
The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) will lead and assist the brand marketing team to impact decisions and support the development and execution of hair brand marketing programs. You will assist the team on new product development initiatives, including identifying consumer insights, partnering with R&D, coordinating market research, develop package copy and create sales materials.
This position is located in our Westport, CT office and offers a hybrid office working schedule with a strong focus on company culture!
Responsibilities
Brand:
- Support the daily execution of marketing initiatives including but not limited to; communication with product development, external agency partners, manage social media content, manage ratings reviews, manage coupon programs, manage artwork proofing and brand asset library
- Assist and collaborate in the development of brand positioning and assortment architecture and customer segmentation
- Analyze syndicated data (IRI), trend reports, and retailer POS data to create insights for improving brand growth
- Assist creative deliverables including writing briefs and ensuring creative materials align with brand positioning and communication strategy
- Conduct competitive industry analyses to highlight new consumer trends and insights to inform brand strategies
- Manage brand financial budgets
NPD:
- Lead and support small, medium, and large-scale projects such as new item product, packaging, copy and claims innovations and drive projects forward to completion working closely and in coordination with cross-functional teams (Sales, Trade Marketing, R&D, Creative, Operations, Finance) to ensure that overall project goals, timelines and objectives are met
- Support all facets of the innovation launch process including sales material, selling story positioning, new item sales distribution samples, customer selling presentations
- Deliver consumer/category input within innovation process to help refine plan elements based on consumer, category and retail environment knowledge
- Work on packaging artwork development by writing copy, seek legal & R&D approvals, proofing art files to release to printers
Retail Shopper Marketing:
- Develop and execute shopper marketing programs including promotions, coupons, sampling, displays, education, direct mail
- Deep understanding of visual merchandising including but not limited to, POS displays, shelf blades, etc.
Advertising/Content:
- Assist in planning and execution of digital, social media, web and retailer ecomm (Amazon, target.com, walmart.com) marketing campaigns
- Write creative briefs to kick off media planning and communications: brand strategies, objectives, target information, market priorities, planning etc.
- Maintain a keen eye on digital media: monitor competitive activity, identify creative opportunities and partnerships
- Proof all copy and creative for advertising assets
Social Media Content and Influencer Programs:
- Review and approve all partnerships and oversee vetting of new candidates for targeted retailer/brand campaigns
- Review, edit and approve all content
- Analyze ROI and engagement of influencers measuring campaign effectiveness and refine programs
Previous Experience Required
- Consumer Package Goods experience in Hair, Personal Care, or Beauty categories
- 2-3 years of Brand Management experience
- IRI/Nielsen syndicated data analysis and reporting
- Creative artwork management with agency partners
- Packaging copy writing
- Agency creative briefing
- Marketing budget management
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field, MBA highly preferred, with 2-3 yrs of related experience, in consumer products innovation.
- Passion and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a resolutive attitude
