Responsibilities:
In this Lead Service Technician position, you will be stationed at the Rankin Warehouse in Virginia, MN performing tasks to support the field operations needs to ensure equipment is ready and available for its customers.
- You will be in the front-line of our rental business, so professionalism, strong communication skills, and a service orientation are key requirements for this role.
- Responsible for determining schedules and sequences for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and distance from warehouse.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools, vehicles and equipment, and act in a safe manner to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Maintain a clear line of communication to upper management regarding service problems or obstacles and support company goals in line with Rankin’s core values.
- Responsible for delivering, servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment.
- Responsible for managing inventories of materials, equipment, or products and alerting Service Manager when low.
- Maintain repair or maintenance records.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment as well as perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Inspect and test completed work to ensure proper functioning and performance.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of service technician experience within diversified industries requiring temporary climate solutions and controls; such as, construction sites/hospitals/academic/computer rooms etc.
- Previous experience managing and leading a service team preferred.
- High-work ethic, positive attitude, team players who thrive on providing customers with the highest level of service.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and skill troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment and basic repairs.
- Proven communication skills capable of demonstrating proper and safe equipment operations to customers and meeting Rankin Customer Service Standards (we train).
- Availability to remain on call for emergency service after-hours and weekends as needed.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. including extended standing, sitting, bending.
- Must be able to work in the elements.
- Valid driver’s license; motor vehicle record check is required.
