What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Services Operator - Shuttle Driver position at HRL?
Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibility to provide a safe and courteous transportation of
HRL employees from one HRL location to another (morning OR afternoon).Candidate must be reliable, and must have the ability to work with little to no supervision. This position requires excellent customer
service and a clean driving record. This candidate must comply with all applicable regulations and requirements governing operation of company vehicles.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
Experience driving large vans for the purpose of shuttling company staff, and driving company vehicles for Materiel Services tasks, Class C license required. Experience in materials services responsibilities such as shipping, receiving, warehousing, chemical handling, furniture/equipment movement, and Haz-Mat disposal are a plus.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
Basic computer skills including the ability to use the Microsoft Office software suite: Word, Excel, Office, etc. Truck, forklift, and materiel handling equipment experience desired.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities include heavy lifting on a regular
basis, working in a small team environment, flexibility in job assignments, and continuous interaction with HRL population.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required. Valid California Driver's license required must be at least 21 years of age and must have a clean driving record. Must possess the ability to obtain & maintain Haz-Mat, DOT, IATA, and other training certifications.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
