An exciting opportunity is available now for those interested in the quality of care for End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. Through implementation of quality improvement projects, 1:1 technical assistance, and educational activities, Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) supports the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on improving the quality of life and quality of care for individuals receiving dialysis or a kidney transplant in Network 7 (Florida).
Under general direction, the Quality Improvement (QI) Manager will function with the QI Director and Executive Director to provide on-site technical assistance, education, and mitigation strategies to achieve the goals and key results for the ESRD Network, support technical assistance outcomes, and lead community level endeavors to support health equity. Goals and key results will focus on depression, dialysis care in nursing homes, home dialysis, kidney transplantation, vaccination, hospital utilization, patient and family engagement, and health equity.
The QI Manager will utilize a data-driven approach to identify opportunities for improvement, conduct root causes analysis (RCA), implement Plan – Do – Study – Act (PDSA) cycles, and employ evidenced based strategies to meet goals. This position will also function with administrative, data and other ESRD staff to meet and maintain all contractual obligations. Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours.

Essential Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides 1:1 technical assistance to dialysis facilities via on-site visits and virtual follow-up meetings.
- Conducts QI activities including root cause analysis, plan-do-study-act (PDSA) cycles, rapid cycle improvement activities, and data collection and validation.
- Conducts analytic reviews of project data to identify outliers and provide technical assistance to improve outcomes, as well as to identify and spread best practices.
- Develops patient and professional educational materials and meetings.
- Assists with the resolution of patient and facility concerns and complaints.
- Provides knowledge and expertise in support of the ESRD Quality Reporting System (EQRS) and the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
- Provides technical assistance to facilities and other stakeholders in support of the ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP), Dialysis Facility Compare (DFC), Dialysis Facility Report (DFR).
- Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours.
- Represent HSAG in a professional manner, at all times.
Additional Tasks
- Supports development and timely / accurate submission of deliverables to internal and external customers.
- Develops and delivers appropriate communications to facilities and stakeholders.
- Forges partnerships with stakeholders to meet the goals of the contract.
- Engages professionally with all members of the Network team, CMS, other stakeholders, and organizations.
Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
- Must be an experienced healthcare professional with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in appropriate science or related discipline required.
- Must be experienced and skilled in continuous quality improvement, Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement, RCAs, and PDSA cycles.
- Must be experienced in ESRD, with in-center dialysis experience preferred.

- Ability to travel 70%, work remote when not traveling
- Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
- Proficient in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present and instruct through both written and verbal means.
