What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate, Asset Backed Finance - Securitization position at HSBC?
Our Structured Finance (SF) Associates are the future leaders of our investment bank! You will support the team's origination and execution efforts and monitor assets held. Our Associates also provide administrative support to the team including portfolio and transaction management and other ad-hoc tasks as requested by other team members.
About Us
The HSBC Structured Finance team originates and structures asset backed debt. The Team also monitors asset backed exposures held on balance sheet or issued into the public debt or private placement markets.

Here’s what you might expect on a typical day:
Financial Analysis skills: Analyze the performance of clients' asset data by building and running complex financial models using Excel, CAS and Intex. Review of periodic performance data received from clients.
Communication skills: Prepare a PowerPoint presentation that explains the relationship between a numerical analysis and the wider commercial and strategic transaction issues.
Client/Colleague skills: Interact responsively with clients, colleagues, third-parties and advisers and involve senior colleagues at the right time. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure understanding of all internal and external issues facing the team.
Controls & Operational skills: You would understand, observe and apply all key policy requirements. Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
