Job Summary
The Director of Operations is responsible for the execution of the operations plan, providing leadership over operations, auditing and all operational policies and procedures for Underwriting, Operations and Claims to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine operational policies and procedures in support of underwriting, risk engineering and policy issuance.
Establish an audit plan.
Once established, ensure compliance with the audit plan.
Audit files and provide regular feedback to management per the audit plan.
Collaborate with other directors and executive Leadership.
Provide appropriate support and leadership to the Operations team.
Establish and ensure all customer service benchmarks are met.
Develop and assist Operations, Claims and Underwriting teams to find ways to continuously improve operationally.
Ensure even distribution of workload and sufficient staffing capabilities in the Operations staff.
Manage development and training of staff as needed for their career development.
Drive the development and day to day execution of management reports to be used to track service relevant standards.
Conduct any additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of management experience, preferably managing both exempt and non-exempt personnel.
Prior audit experience is a plus.
Experience in claims operations is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and an aptitude to learn new programs.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
