The individual will be responsible for performing inspection primarily on incoming/outgoing products to ensure customer specifications are met, company quality standards are followed and are consistent according to ISO and safety requirements. This shift will be considered a "floating shift" requiring the quality inspector to work part of 2nd shift and part of 3rd. This position will also be responsible for filling in for scheduled vacation days needed for 2nd and 3rd shift quality inspectors.
A day in the life of a floating quality inspector would include:
An understanding of inspection charts, prints, and standard operating procedures will help an individual thrive as a quality inspector.
Being comfortable with using measurement devices such as thread gages, pin gages, and calipers would also be very beneficial.
Good communication skills and being an individual that is an active listener would also be a plus.
