A top client is hiring for a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide oversight of a National Manufacturing and Distribution Center Operations located in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
As COO, you will be on-site and responsible for overseeing operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability of manufacturing and distribution center operations. You will play a critical role in setting strategic goals, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless execution to achieve business objectives and foster growth.
As the COO you will be responsible for:
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's mission, vision, and objectives.
Operational Oversight: Provide leadership and direction to department heads and operational teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement across all functional areas, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
Resource Allocation: Manage human, financial, and technological resources effectively to optimize operational performance and maximize ROI.
Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational performance, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Risk Management: Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard against disruptions, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards and compliance requirements to uphold product/service excellence and customer satisfaction.
Distribution Center Operations: Oversee distribution center operations including; receiving, pick/pack/ ship activities, logistics, inventory management, and personnel, to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
Technology Integration: Leverage technology solutions, including ERP & WMS systems, data analytics tools, and automation, to streamline operations and enhance decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment with organizational objectives.
In order to be successful in the role you must possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
Proven experience (10 years) in senior leadership roles, with a primary focus on operations management and strategic planning.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, distribution operations, supply chain management, and logistics.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Experience in managing complex projects and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in operations management.
Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and technology platforms used in operations management.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and challenges.
