D&N Machining is hiring for a Technical Operations Manager in the Fort Smith, AR market. The primary mission of the Technical Operations Manager is to improve operational costs and On-time Delivery. The Technical Operations Manager will work with sales on increasing gross margins and profitability while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

Founded in 1985, the company specializes in manufacturing precision machined components for original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) in an array of industries including Oil & Gas, Aerospace & Defense, Firearms, and Industrial. The Company maintains extraordinary quality standards and is ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100, and FAA Repair certified. D&N Machining has state-of-the-art CNC’s that include high speed Swiss Screw Machines, Bar Feeders, Vertical Mills, Horizontal Mills, Lathes and Vertical Lathes. Our machining size capabilities range from micro parts to 17,000 pounds for both lathe and mill operations. This division has their own leadership team and 52 non-union employees. As the Technical Operations Manager you will:
Operations
- Be responsible for Weekly KPIs to ensure on time delivery, efficiency, productivity, and safety targets are being met.
- Lead the weekly production meeting to ensure the schedule is being followed.
- Full ownership of the implementation of OpEx program.
Sales
- Work with sales during technical reviews with customers.
- Work with the sales team on gathering required information and specifications from the customers to aid quoting.
- Ensure PPAP and sample jobs are delivered on time and to specification.
- Drive weekly quote review meeting between sales and engineering.
- Maintain proper levels of Inventory Control (FG, WIP, Raw Material).
Engineering
- Assist and guide the engineering team with onboarding new projects.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure quotes are supplied to customers on time.
- Assist the engineering team with CNC programming support if necessary.
Quality
- Lead Gemba walks during quality problems to ensure thorough root cause analysis is being performed and effective countermeasures are put in place.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis with QC, Production and Engineering on any customer issues.
Purchasing/Planning
- Assist Purchasing team with raw material planning and Machine scheduling.
- Work with the Purchasing team to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained.
Maintenance
- Work with Maintenance on development of a PM program.
- Create a PM tracking system and ensure on time Maintenance is completed.
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred
- 4 Years of Machining Background
- Experience with CNC programming
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing
- 5 Years of Leadership role experience
- Well-versed in production planning
- Strong background of Inventory Control
- Well-versed in reading blueprints
- Customer-facing experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail -
- Preferred: Proficient in SolidWorks and/or Esprit -
- Microsoft Outlook and Excel proficient
