From Former Owners And Hufft Marchand Hospitality Team
This fall, the former owners of Old Metairie’s ‘Parish Line Bistro’, will team with
Hufft Marchand Hospitality to rebrand and reopen the Metairie Road space as
‘Barcar’, a neighborhood bar focused on cocktails, food and sports.
The HMH team, which operates Junior’s On Harrison in Lakeview, will run the day to day
operations alongside owners Mickey Parenton and Mickey Loomis.
Hufft and Marchand began meeting with existing ownership last year, and jumped
on the opportunity to help rebrand and reopen the space. ‘Barcar’ is a nod to the
building’s history as a train depot, sitting at the foot of the railroad that runs
between Metairie Road and the Jefferson/Orleans line. Hufft says, “the barcar was known as ‘the social phenomenon in between work and home’. It was a place where people could relax on the train, have a drink and some food, and momentarily get a break between the two most important parts of their lives”.
The bar will feature a focused cocktail list, extensive tequila selection, espresso martini shots and more.
We're looking to have our grand opening at the beginning of August and are now starting the interview process for all positions. Managers, Servers, Bartenders, Bussers and Kitchen Crew

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes
- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and equipment
- Check customers' identification to ensure they meet the legal drinking age
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system
- Monitor inventory levels and restock bar supplies as needed
- Previous experience in bartending or a related role
- Knowledge of beverage recipes and preparation methods
- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience in cocktail or food service industry is advantageous
- Understanding of food handling and safety regulations
- Passion for the mixology industry
