DIRECTOR OF MIS
Job Posting for DIRECTOR OF MIS at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital
The MIS Director duties will include department supervising, planning, directing and organizing the procurement of information technology solutions, hardware and software tools necessary for an effective hospital information system and developing policies/procedures for record and data storage and retrieval.
Education and Formal Training: Four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent amount of specialized computer technical training and experience required.
Work Experience: Experience with clinical hospital information systems and healthcare networks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Four-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent amount of specialized computer technical training and experience required. Experience with clinical hospital information systems and healthcare networks. Experience with and knowledge of PC's and PC software applications. Ability to train staff in the use of PC software specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office. Previous supervisory experience in healthcare clinical and financial departments, with significant exposure to and knowledge of hospital and departmental operating policies and procedures. Awareness of hospital interdepartmental operations and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary projects and initiatives. Effective communication skills with a focus on working with medical and clinical staff. Well organized with proven ability to motivate, manage projects and meet deadlines. Interest in and enthusiasm for computerization and its potential for improving hospital efficiency, patient safety and patient and employee satisfaction.
