Mid Level RF Engineer

For more information, visit echostar.com. Follow @EchoStar on Twitter. Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a RF Engineer. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD. Responsibilities: Define architecture of RF solutions in transceiver designs; select/design components, integrate modules, and evaluations. Transceiver blocks could include filter, up/down-converters, PLLs, oscillators, LNA, ADC/DAC, etc. Formulate and update technical documentation using Microsoft Office. Simulate design circuits using Genesys/ADS or equivalent for design margin analysis such as s-parameters, matching networks, noise, linearity and spurious. Schematic captures and layout techniques for RF circuits. Develop test plans to fully qualify design that includes validation and carryout all supports (including production fixture development) needed to meet production yields. Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree specializing in RF and/or analog electronics. 5 years of work experience in the RF and/or analog. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree specializing in RF and/or analog electronics. Hardware lab experience and conducting laboratory tests using RF equipment: Spectrum analyzers, power meters, vector analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, sources, mixers, filters, amplifiers, receivers, and circuit optimization (comfortable with passive rework using solder iron). Ability to troubleshoot and accurately identify issues and/improvement. Be autonomous, curious, versatile, and have a good team spirit; collaborate with associated teams outside of RF such as mechanical, software, and/or firmware to produce a successful product. Programming skills in labview, python, or similar language. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
