The Lead, Business Technology Leadership devises an effective strategy for executing and delivering on IT business initiatives. The Lead, Business Technology Leadership works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

Humana’s IT organization is seeking a highly strategic, consultative, analytical, organized, and motivated individual to act as the Business Support Lead to the CIO. In this role you will partner closely with the leadership team, acting as an enabler for strategic initiatives, and ensuring execution of key priorities. You will be charged with building alignment on strategic initiatives with the senior leadership team and broader organization to include planning, communicating, and operationalizing strategic programs.

As a critical partner, you will define and manage the rhythm of business as well as coordinate quarterly business objectives & key results. This role is a pivotal player requiring influence, initiative, creativity, and resolve to ensure the team is well positioned to execute. You will also serve as a program manager for special projects or events, driving both the strategy and execution.

The Business Support Lead is an integral part of the team, predominantly responsible for assisting the CIO with duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Support CIO as a strategist, consultant and implementer to ensure streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the CIO.
  • Ensure all staff issues are addressed properly, efficiently and judiciously, and keep track of progress until resolved
  • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Participate in meetings with the HR Business Partner to discuss potential staffing planning and needs 
  • Assess inquiries directed to the CIO, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage

               

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Communications, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years’ of experience  consulting or influencing executives
  • 5+ years of experience in Strategy, Consulting, or Communications
  • 5+ years of experience in a business or IT environment undergoing transformation
  • Impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Strong executive presence
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
  • Effective, versatile and action-oriented
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies, plans, programs and events
  • Proven track record of ensuring accountability and results; ability to steer leaders and constituents towards decisions
  • Top-notch business acumen, consultative skills, critical thinking, problem solving, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility as will be required to work on different time zone if CIO is travelling
  • Excellent relationship building, influencing, and communication skills with all levels of management and employees
  • Proven record of seamless execution of complex projects
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to judge situations accurately and quickly, grasping complexities, identifying key issues and applying sound judgment
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity, and distilling to executable actions
  • Quantitative skills and experience creating compelling business presentations
  • Ability to be flexible, pro-active, work under deadlines, and ensure quality and accuracy
  • Strong presentation development skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 2+ years’ of experience  consulting or influencing executives
  • 10+ years of experience in Strategy, Consulting, or Communications
  • Experience driving business transformations
  • as well as blending traditional internal communications tactics with new media, including enterprise collaboration and social platforms
  • Experience working across multiple functions - including Marketing, Communications, Finance, Legal and HR
