Activity Coordinator

Description

Humana's Neighborhood Center in Zephyrhills, Florida is looking for an Activity Coordinator who is knowledgeable and passionate about our senior community to join our team. The Neighborhood Center is a facility that offers a unique calendar of special events, programs and activities designed to help improve physical and mental health for Humana members and their guest.

Responsibilities

This role is full-time, on-site/member facing position to meet the business needs at the Center. The regular schedule for the Activity Coordinator is 40 hours per week 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. There may be opportunities when additional hours or days is required to work including weekends when the Center is hosting community events or to cover staff requested time off; resulting in working different shifts and/or days of the week.

As the Activity Coordinator, you will schedule the Wellness Center meeting rooms and fitness rooms for pre-programmed classes, activities and/or events. You will demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards Center members and guests. When members need assistance, willingness to find resources to assist or find a resolution to complaints. Recognizing our member happiness, enjoyment and safety is top priority for our team. 

               

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, promote and coordinate programs to provide members with a variety fitness and social activities
• Greet Center members during the check-in process
• Handle in-bound and out-bound calls to/from Center members

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of administrative or related experience in a professional environment
• Proficient with Microsoft applications: Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with a CRM platform is a plus
• Demonstrated high-quality customer service skills, preferably in healthcare or high-end service business
• Strong attention to detail; ability to manage many details related to data entry, scheduling, follow-up requests and file maintenance
• Flexible with ability to work in a fluid environment and positive attitude regarding finding solutions to challenges
• Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals
• Ability to build strong working relationship, internally and externally
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and oral communication with potential clients and current personnel.
• Strong emotional intelligence
• Valid driver license and dependable transportation necessary
• Speak to groups to; initiate and/or perform activity, lecture.
• Conduct screenings as scheduled by manager.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous work with vulnerable adults or the geriatric population
• Experience in Community health outreach programs
• Nutrition knowledge
• 2 - 3 years of experience as a Personal Trainer and/or performing wellness and recreational activities
• Health Plan experience, including Medicare/Medicaid
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Additional Information

This position is located, on-site/in-person at our Neighborhood Center located at on Gall Blvd in Zephyrhills, FL. Scheduled hours: 8:30am-5pm M-F. Full-Time; with flexibility to work other the occasional Sat/Sun if Center is hosting a Community event or to help with staff coverage.

Vaccine Policy 

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Every associate and contractor who work inside a Humana facility or in the field, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a daily health screening questionnaire.
