Humana's Neighborhood Center in Evergreen Park, IL is looking for an Activity Coordinator who is knowledgeable and passionate about our senior community to join our team. The Neighborhood Center is a facility that offers a unique calendar of special events, programs and activities designed to help improve physical and mental health for Humana members and their guest.Responsibilities
The schedule for the Activity Coordinator is full-time, 40 hours a week, (8:30am-5:00pm), Monday-Friday.
As the Activity Coordinator, you will schedule the Wellness Center meeting rooms and fitness rooms for pre-programmed classes, activities and/or events. You will demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards Center members and guests. When members need assistance, willingness to find resources to assist or find a resolution to complaints. Recognizing our member happiness, enjoyment and safety is top priority for our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, promote and coordinate programs to provide members with a variety fitness and social activities.
- Greet Center members during the check-in process.
- Handle in-bound and out-bound calls to/from Center members
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 year in a previous administrative role
- Retail/hospitality experience a plus
- Ability to work closely and engage with senior population.
- Flexible with ability to work in a fluid environment and positive attitude regarding finding solutions to challenges.
- Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.
- A valid driver license and dependable, individual transportation necessary
- Experience in a patient facing role involving structured and planned activities.
- Ability to work independently under general instructions and with a team.
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with technology -including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively/professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable with speaking to groups; initiate and/or lead activities or facilitate lectures.
- Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual/Fluent in English and Spanish
- Experience in Community health outreach programs
- Nutrition knowledge
- Experience as a Personal Trainer and/or performing wellness and recreational activities.
- Health Plan experience, including Medicare/Medicaid
Additional Information
This position is located, on-site/in-person at our Neighborhood Center located in the Evergreen Shopping Plaza in Evergreen, IL. The Neighborhood Center will host Community and Member events and the Activity Coordinator will need to have their own transportation to travel within the Evergreen community area to prepare for specific events. The ideal candidate will be an active and involved member of the Evergreen local community.
