The Lead Agile Coach helps foster successful adoption of Agile methodologies using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) with a primary focus at the Large Solution and Portfolio level. This role will serve as strategic agile implementation lead, in addition to acting as coach, educator, and mentor for ART-level coaches, business leaders, and IT leaders within a business segment.
Responsibilities
The Lead Agile Coach guides the overall implementation roadmap and strategy for a business segment. They are responsible for planning, facilitating, and executing Solution and Portfolio activities, which may include standing up and coaching a LACE, gaining executive buy-in, providing coaching to business partners, facilitating Value Stream Workshops, and developing custom trainings/workshops that proactively address the needs of those you serve. You will mentor, coach, and train all leaders within a segment so they can embody the principles and mindset needed to support a true, generative agile culture where innovation and relentless improvement are prioritized and thrive.
As a Lead Coach, you will guide the agile implementation strategy across an entire business segment, helping leaders shift to organizing around value and launching appropriately-scoped ARTs at a sustainable, thoughtful pace. You will help leadership and ART-level coaches build behaviors and patterns that support a culture of servant leadership, innovation, and relentless improvement.
Required Qualifications
5 years’ experience in agile coaching/mentoring role, change management experience
Experience working in at least two agile transformations at the Solution and Portfolio level
Completed at least two Value Stream Workshops
Lean Portfolio Management implementation experience, with measurable results
Active SAFe 5 Program Consultant (SPC5) certification
Understanding of agile development processes and methodology
Experience determining Agile implementation roadmaps and strategies in different cultures and environments—especially related to bridging the gap between IT and business partners
Experience coaching coaches in addition to executive leaders
Team-oriented, passionate about developing others’ skills and capabilities
Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams and leaders
Strong communication, facilitation, training, and presentation skills
Coaches with a focus on empathy, seeking to understand, and supportive collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Agile, Project Management, or a related field or experience is preferred
Knowledge of agile lifecycle management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, etc.)
Ability to work well with people with varying technical and business abilities
Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
Work-At-Home Requirements
All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Connectivity requirements are detailed below.

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership.
Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
