Overview
Humanscale, the leading global ergonomic product design and manufacturing company headquartered in New York City, is seeking a Brand Director to become a member of the marketing team reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer. Successful candidates should possess creative, precise and clean layout skills and an excellent understanding of typographic principles and usage (Think “Apple”). Candidates should be mature, positive and work well independently, as well as within a team environment. This is an important role in driving strategic planning, overseeing team workstreams and project management, and leading a positive marketing team environment, setting an example for the pace and quality of work that is expected. Candidates should stay on top of current design trends and be a driving force for continual evolution of the brand.
Responsibilities
- Be an extraordinary storyteller for internal motivation and external brand expression
- Help define style, tone and design parameters for the Humanscale brand including maintaining corporate brand guidelines, communicating goals to key stakeholders and overseeing materials created by team members.
- Organize design of all marketing collateral including print and digital graphic materials such as sales brochures, catalogues, presentations, emails, web pages, product instructions, direct mail campaigns, partner programs, newsletters, advertisements and all other customer touchpoints.
- Liaise with Creative Director to define photo and video shoots including development of concepts, storyboards, and shot lists and management of vendors.
- Consistently conceive of how to present the brand in new, compelling ways across media.
- Manage PR, Social Media, Trade Marketing directly and collaborate with Creative Director, and Digital Marketing Director as needed.
- Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects at any one time ranging from large marketing campaigns to minor sales support requests.
- Liaise with International counterpart to ensure brand consistency, learnings, and optimization of resources.
- Oversee creation and execution of pop-up and trade shows including developing graphics, collaborating on layout of booths and logistical parameters.
- Work closely with all areas of the team to have unified and integrated approach to all marketing initiatives.
- Take an active role in understanding products and markets as well as the workings of the company at large to create logical, intelligent and relevant designs.
- Manage many projects at various stages simultaneously and flexibly as new information arises and priorities change.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with CEO, CMO, and other senior executives to champion marketing initiatives and manage and incorporate feedback.
- Develop, propose, and mange a creative and events budget as part of overall marketing budget.
Qualifications
- A. marketing, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with ease
- Ability to translate design language and marketing principles to key stakeholders within organization
- 8-10 years’ experience with a global brand(s) in a corporate or retail design environment, ad agency or design firm.
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a team and vendors
- Knowledge of graphic design applications including the Adobe Creative Suite preferred (Photoshop/ Illustrator/ InDesign/ Acrobat Professional)
- Familiarity with CMS
