PLC Programming Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ability to use PLC's and PC controls, including using PLC for troubleshooting.
• PLC understanding and familiarity to make program changes as directed.
• Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process.
• Perform hands-on field installation, operational start-up, calibration, and commissioning activities. It will look at an existing manual process, design and implement an automatic or semi-automatic fixture that will replace the manual process.
• Handle the installation and troubleshooting of Control and Mechanical Systems to automate upstream and downstream processing equipment.
• Establishing and following up on project implementation.
• Lead projects for new machine builds, installations, and modifications.
• Suggesting and implementing improvements for manufacturing processes, information, and procedures.
• Assess available options for technology and equipment throughout various areas of manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field
• Programming and troubleshooting experience with PLC automation and related controls
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management and technical skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Ability to prioritize and interpret work requests and work orders
• Computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite)
