ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install low voltage commercial systems.
• Wire and install Audio Visual Systems for residential and commercial customers.
• Verify and test installed systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience with service and installation of AV and network systems (3-5 years preferred.)
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving skills.
• Proficient PC and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
• Ability and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and dependability.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
• Computer networking background; knowledge of programming skills, Honeywell, Crestron, Extron, Lutron, Control 4, Savant, or RTI a plus.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, inspections, and service.
• Experience with card access, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING INFORMATION:

• High School Graduate
• Current Power Limited (PLT) License preferred. If not licensed, PLT licensure is required after program completion. Program Information:
  • Work as an apprentice AV technician 40 hours per week.
  • Valid driver s license required.
  • Ability to pass the Electrician s Trade Aptitude Test.
  • Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free).
  • Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked.
  • Usually takes about 3 years to complete program and become licensed.
• CTS preferred.
• The following certifications and experience are preferred: technicians with data cabling systems, fire alarm, security (ie access control or video surveillance,) NICET Fire Alarm Level 1, 2, or 3.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
• This position requires the ability, and bend or stand as necessary.
• This position requires the ability to move and/or lift objects regularly up to 50 pounds.
