We are currently seeking Spring Engineering co-ops for our company’s manufacturing plant in Durant, Mississippi. In this role, you will provide technical support in the planning, coordination, inspection, monitoring, and reporting of the operation of the plant.
Responsibilities
- You must follow all safety guidelines and wear safety-toed boots in the plant.
- Assignments may be production, engineering, maintenance, or quality
- Projects could be any of the following:
- Recognize, design, and implement plant improvements utilizing 3D CAD software and a hands-on approach; create or update work instructions for use in production; create design plans; prepare time studies; process mapping.
- Fabrication and design of racks, fixtures, and other components using 3D CAD Software Creo.
- Construction of designed projects using basic machine shop and welding skills.
- Participate in the 6S program, and update job safety analysis.
- Daily tasks as assigned can include titration analysis; air reports; utilization tracking reports; inventory counts; velocity measurements of welding intake and exhaust ventilation systems; data collection on machine performance and operations usage.
- Utilization of 2D AutoCAD LT.
- Factory Logix Start-up support
- Review/optimize existing preventive maintenance plans; assist in the rollout of a new CMMS; review assets and recommend spare part inventory adjustments to manage risks.
Qualifications
- Pursing Industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering or other related degrees at an accredited college.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- A high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining the company’s core values and culture.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Evidence of professional maturity, self-confidence, and executive presence.
Housing is also provided for our co-ops per semester, based on co-ops needs.
