The Assistant Director is the first direct contact with students, families, schools, teachers, and other partners. The Assistant Director will ensure that the students in the center from day one have the best experience and is responsible for meeting marketing, revenue, and operations goals at the Center. This includes: outreach to schools, parents, and businesses; raising the profile of the Center within the community; conducting academic evaluations; hiring, training, and supervising staff; working with the rest of the Huntington Learning Center family to adhere to Huntington policies and procedures; financial and other administrative duties; and conducting meetings with parents and students. The Assistant Director role is full-time and reports to the Center Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Lead the team in meeting marketing, revenue, and operational goals for the Center.
  • Manage administrative activities for the Center - including oversee operational finances, scheduling of teachers and students, provide customer service to our families and the public, lead on school-focused visits and parent conferences, create and maintain student records, financial and other reporting, and assisting with the educational activities of the center.
  • Represent the Center at PTA, school board, parent groups, county education events.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of staff and teachers.
  • Conduct student evaluations and conferences with students and parents.
  • Create and maintain student and teacher schedules. Ability to work evenings and weekends, and occasionally beyond center hours when necessary.
  • Tutoring.
  • Typical academic year schedule is: Monday-Thursday 12 pm to 8:30 pm; Saturday 9:00-1:30 pm. Summer hours is: 9 am to 2 pm. S/he will be expected to drive to do meet with schools/teachers, and other partners. The Center is closed on Fridays and Sundays.

Ideal candidates will have:


  • A 4-year degree a must. MA in education or MBA is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and 3-5 years of management. Ideally, experience with a Huntington Learning Center or another learning center.
  • Proven record of improving revenue/sales.
  • Leadership qualities with an enthusiastic, outgoing and team oriented personality.
  • Strong networker.
  • Ability to work with students of all ages, and commitment to help children succeed academically. Teaching experience in a public education setting is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of professionalism
  • Outstanding communication, business, and computer skills including Microsoft Suites, PPT, Quickbooks, and other essential platforms.
  • Skills and experience on social media.
