Model performance Monitoring Analyst
The Model performance Monitoring Analyst role is part of Huntington’s Quantitative Risk Modeling and Analytics team and is responsible for monitoring model performance of a wide range of quantitative models, including credit loss forecasting, pre-provision net revenue, underwriting, commercial risk rating and fair lending models, used for regulatory compliance and business as usual (BAU). The model performance monitoring analyst will leverage recent data to perform back-testing, sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and other techniques to monitor ongoing model performance, and prepare effective model performance monitoring reports compliant with standards set by the model governance group and external regulators. The incumbent will also provide statistical support to model developers and support the research of new climate risk modeling methodologies and techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use data analytics to conduct ongoing performance monitoring of all models managed by the group
- Develop and monitor model metrics and thresholds to assess continued model performance
- Identify and quantify risk arising from model performance monitoring and escalate observed risk to management
- Create model performance monitoring reports as needed and share results with various stakeholders
- Provide insights from model monitoring results to model users and advise on ongoing usage of the models for business decisions
- Closely monitor trends, industry or peer performance and the economic environment to assess any potential emerging issues
- Contribute to the preparation of management-level presentations and model committee packages for various audiences
- Support model monitoring activities requested by model validation and audit activities
- Support Model Risk Management governance activities on an ongoing basis by providing updated model monitoring results in ERMS
- Leverage existing data sources and problem-solving skills to develop solutions to address gaps in model monitoring and reporting
- Support the development and design of scenarios for stress testing and climate risk modeling
- Perform ad hoc duties related to model development, maintenance, and recalibration
- Support the implementation of models managed by the group.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 1-2 years of experience in quantitative modeling including each of the following areas: Data identification, querying, cleaning, and processing; Quantitative model building; Diagnosing model results and creating comprehensive reports and documentation
- 1 years of experience in statistical modeling using SQL, SAS, R and Python that may be a combination of work experience and/or study project.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Fundamental understanding of risk concept and framework
- Passion and drive to operational excellence and quality delivery
