Field Service & Support Technician

Milltronics USA is seeking a full-time, Field Service and Support Technician

The Field Service and Support Technician is expected to provide customers with on-site maintenance and repair assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC machine tools (metal cutting machines, mills, lathes, and related equipment and component systems) at customer's facility.
• Prior to new machine shipment contact or visit customers to review and gain customer’s agreement to install the machine in accordance with installation recommendations.
• Supervise the erection of disassembled machines in the customer’s facility.
• Inspect installation of new machines and make recommendations to customer to assure compliance with machine specifications. Adjust, start up, and demonstrate safe setup, operation, and maintenance with customer personnel.
• Review and demonstrate controls and safety features in all modes of operation with customer personnel.
• Conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
• Interfacing with distributor partners and customers.
• Provide problem identification, repair, maintenance and training services. Recommend parts, accessories, and labor necessary to maintain safe operation of equipment.
• Phone support when not traveling or on site.
• Detailed reporting of activities.
• Participation in shows, training, and product demonstrations may be required.

Requirements

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• 75% travel
• Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, Machine geometries, and Control diagnostics
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Should possess good verbal, written, and digital communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
• 2 or more years of technical school education or equivalent experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems maintenance repair is strongly preferred
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

Physical Requirements

This position requires physical labor at times:

• Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
• Employee is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
