GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lead an agile engineering systems team of software engineers to develop, implement and maintain both CAD applications and web applications. Increase speed, consistency and quality of engineering output, for the Application Engineering, Project Engineering, and Production Engineering teams. Provide expert support of existing CAD and web applications.
Develop and maintain the overall system Architecture for HRC business systems, ensuring functional enhancements consider existing systems interdependencies and limitations. Plan and implement projects to eliminate technical debt and modernize the current design ecosystem.
In conjunction with the Product Owner, and in consultation with team members during agile ceremonies, plan, estimate and track all work and resources to deliver on business priorities. This may include gathering and iteratively refining requirements, sprint planning, scheduling, deployment and resource coordination. Represent and advocate for the team when interacting with other groups, Product Owners, Project Managers and business stake holders.
Mentor existing and new team members in general software development best practices and in new or unfamiliar technology. Champion a continuous learning environment. Focus on creating a high performing and skilled team with skills proficiency and cross-training of team members the paramount consideration.
This position will be located in Vermont
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1.Cooperatively plan, design, estimate, develop, test, document and deploy software solutions pursuant to Husky’s goals
2.Advocate, foster and champion a safe, high-performing, cross functional team environment
3.Collaborate with business partners and teammates globally to overcome tactical hurdles, formulate team strategy, and to ensure alignment
4.Work collaboratively with team members from other parts of the business to identify opportunities for the application of automation. Identify legacy systems and retire technical debt.
5.Relentlessly pursue continuous improvement in software development, testing and deployment practices, mentoring and sharing best practices, formally or informally, as needed
6.Provide end-user support for the existing portfolio of CAD and web applications
7.Follow agile software development methodology, lead daily standups, create project and work item effort estimates and solicit team feedback for continuous improvement
