What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Tax Specialist position at HWS Inc?
The household payroll experts at HomeWork Solutions (HWS) are expanding our Tax team! As a tax specialist with HomeWork Solutions, you are the expert in payroll tax filing requirements. You interact with State & Federal tax authorities on behalf of clients to file payroll taxes and resolve tax notices. You interact with clients to answer questions about employment laws and filing requirements. By helping clients navigate the complexities of household payroll taxes, you will provide the excellent customer service that sets HWS apart!
Daily activities include:
Payroll Tax preparation and filing
Tax notice research and resolution
Payroll Tax accounting
Tax Table and Unemployment Tax rate maintenance
State tax account closure
Opening new payroll tax accounts with Federal, State, and Local tax authorities
Interacting with tax authorities on the client's behalf to resolve outstanding issues
Educating clients and prospective clients about household employment tax issues
Requirements
Associates degree, or equivalent work experience
Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel (Access a plus)
Strong data entry skills and accuracy
Friendly demeanor with “World Class” customer service approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail are primary concerns
Ability to work core hours of 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM EST (overtime may be required during quarterly tax filing seasons)
Preferred:
Prior customer service or call center experience
Experience with payroll taxes
Knowledge of payroll accounting
A degree or substantial course work in accounting or related business discipline
Fluency in Spanish
