JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Host at Janko Hospitality is to provide world class service to all guests. A Host will be accountable for overall success of greeting guests and guiding them to their seating. Exhibits a positive attitude and holds the highest respect for all customers and co-workers at all functions. Work to continually improve guest satisfaction while maintaining within the operating budget. Must ensure sanitation and customer service are achieved.
Hostess Job Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner.
- Ascertains their dining/lodging needs.
- Seats guests and manage the seating chart.
- Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
- Responds to guests’ inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Performs opening and closing duties, as needed.
- Assists others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding napkins, silverware, etc.
- Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships.
- Prepare breakfast items to guests and makes sure breakfast line is stocked and drinks available.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Prior restaurant or hotel experience, or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees

HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
