This is an extremely exciting time to join our team! In 2024, the hotel will be undergoing an extensive renovation and repositioning. We are looking for an innovative and proactive approach to sales generation to drive our hotel’s performance.

SUMMARY

About the Role –Group Sales Manger The Group Sales Manager will be a critical role in our team in helping us build relationships and grow our group rooms and banquet revenue. The individual will be responsible for group room bookings to include both guest rooms only and groups with associated banquet F&B revenue. The position does require a proactive approach to sales to positively impact the hotel’s business goals. Working in a team, the position will report to the Director of Sales, Marketing and Events.

Responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space, conducting site inspections, travelling to see customers and attend specific trade shows. Duties also include, preparing and presenting effective proposals and contracts and utilizing data reports to create strategies. This role will utilize Hyatt systems and coordinate customer service requirements as appropriate.


Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Works collaboratively with hotel teams, Hyatt SalesForce, and other hotel counterparts to drive revenue and ensure customer satisfaction and increase market share.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers, industry organizations to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows.
  • Understands the overall market including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and knows how to sell in a competitive manner.
  • Working closely with the Director of Sales to develop and implement strategies to maximize business levels
  • Interact with guests and operations team to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales experience in hotel, airline, retail or travel related industry is preferred
  • Proven sales experience with the ability to lead, guide and achieve personal revenue goals
  • Desire to learn and continually adapt to changing market conditions
  • Natural relationship builder and strong desire to work as a partner with customers
  • Creative thinker motivated by innovation and trying new ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
