POSITION DESCRIPTION
Currently, HGL (HydroGeologic, Inc.) is seeking an experienced Environmental Field Technician to support projects nationwide for Federal Clients. Projects will be associated with construction of treatment facilities and/or remediation of contaminated environmental media.
This position requires onsite presence during field activities and will require travel for durations of 1 week to 3 months. HGL is flexible regarding the actual physical location of a candidate. Ability to have easy access to a commercial airport is required. Due to the dispersity of HGL projects, some projects sites may be within driving distance of a candidate’s home.
Responsibilities/Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The successful candidate will be responsible for execution of environmental field tasks and related office work. Tasks may include environmental field work to include environmental sampling, environmental drilling support, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of remedial systems. The candidate will support documentation to include field documentation, and potential development of maps and tables and data entry, when required. The candidate will assist and interface with other field personnel including environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers.
Required Skills
- Strong communication, organization, and field documentation skills.
- Dynamic team member.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Ability to travel approximately 60% or more per year to various job sites around the U.S.
- Experience with Environmental field sampling of various media.
- Experience with O&M of treatment systems, including basic understanding of various construction applications such as plumbing and electrical.
Required Experience
- 10 years of experience in environmental or construction industry performed related tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER or ability to train for & acquire 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER within first two weeks of employment. HGL will provide tuition support
- Working knowledge of USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1).
- It is preferred that the candidate selected will be fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
- Certification as a N2 Operator is a plus.
