The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Department Leader, Employee Benefits, the Healthcare Analytics Consultant will provide expert support to the Employee Benefits (EB) sales team. This position will develop a unique action plan customized for each client, provide insights and recommendations based upon client data, and work with other members of the EB team.
This role can be based in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati or Toledo and will be required to travel regionally.

The Healthcare Analytics Consultant needs to have excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing. With at least 2 years of experience healthcare data analytics experience, the Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in the analytics tool platform and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
In This Role You Will Execute On:
- Serve as a consultant to the EB sales team for client groups for their book of business.
- Develop unique and customized action plans for clients, including identification of cost containment strategies and continuous review of emerging experiences.
- Provide insights and recommendations to both clients and sales team based on claims and enrollment data.
- Work as client facing consultant when needed and serve as the analytics platform subject matter expert.
- Incorporate and understand updates and changes to the analytics tool platform
- Create and maintain client claims dashboard reporting
- Perform systematic review of client experience on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis as determined by client specific action plan.
- Perform additional reviews on annual basis focused on specific cost containment solutions.
- Introduce and promote use of other EB Corporate Services, including Health Strategies, Cost Containment and Leave Management based upon results of analysis.
- Collaborate with and assist EB Corporate team as needed to address client issues.
- Provide training and communication to account teams regarding RFP responses, Intranet Articles, Update Internal / External Client Facing Pieces on Intranet, or other relevant areas.
In This Role You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, degree in analytical subject preferred
- A minimum of two years data analytics experience required
- Experience with Benefit Science Technology (BST) or other analytics platform preferred
- Good understanding of healthcare data and terminology
- Knowledge of employee benefits through carrier relationships or prior carrier experience
- Understanding of health plan risk, underwriting and actuarial models, and risk management techniques required.
- Understanding of Self-Funded contracts and stop loss policies
- Computer literacy for Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet with the ability to create and edit spreadsheets, presentations, and correspondence, perform data entry and access data
- Strong technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and focus on metrics to drive successful adoption of key initiatives
- Ability to remain focused on the big picture
- Ability to self-educate and use internal and external resources to grow knowledge base
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment
