This role is responsible for the ownership and management of the Safety and Compliance Program at Hyper Networks. You will develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization. This role reports directly to the VP of Process and Compliance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement EH&S programs, policies, and procedures including training on safe work practices.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with policies, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and conduct a Safety orientation program for new employees.
- Complete inspection reports, provide safety orientation, training and coaching to support field management with safety related matters.
- Monitor and track safety reports and violations to identify and report trends.
- Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
- Shuts down operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, incidents, and health problems through a cycle of continuous improvement.
- Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
- Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Conducts accident and incident investigations, recommends and implements revisions, improvements, corrective actions and updates.
- Support business development in responding to client safety pre-qualifications, Safety Presentations, etc
- Identifies trends and opportunities for improvement of risk management
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace applications is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Degree or certification in Health and Safety profession or ability to complete certification within 6 months.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 30 certification or ability to certify within 90 days
Working Conditions
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent driving to job sites, standing, walking, bending, and twisting.
- Must be able to work in a construction environment outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Ability to be on call after hours and weekends as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
