Job Description

Title: Batchmaker, OTC

Department: Production – Cure Plant

Location: Hampshire, IL

Supervisor’s Title: Production Supervisor (Cure)

Days/Hours worked: M – F, 6 am to 2:30 pm (OT a Must)

Summary: Responsible for blending and mixing of various resins, solvents and other raw material additives to produce acceptable in-process batches per approved batch instruction sheets.

Essential Duties & Principal Responsibilities

· Develop a thorough knowledge of raw material storage tanks, valving and piping, their contents, actuation and directions of flow.

· Utilize and navigate through a human machine interface (HMI) panel to run production.

• Ability to read, write and speak English (Spanish a plus).
• Fill pails and drums using filling machine.
• Recognize equipment malfunctions and accurately describe them to maintenance and management.

· Safety - actively promote and practice for all team members.

· Recognition of any hazardous conditions and notification to maintenance and management.

• Ensure organization and cleanliness of the areas.

· Recommend improvements and modifications in the procedures, policies, standards and methods in order to improve the system.

• Unload empty drums from trailers by hand.
• Stack material and apply labeling as required.
• Cooperate with team to ensure best service possible.

· Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to strictly follow SOP’s and safety protocols without deviation.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Education/Training/Experience

• 5 years chemical batch-making experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent desirable.
• Training on WMS (Datascope) provided.
• Hazwoper or other flammable/combustible training a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.75 per hour
