Position Description
The RFQ Associate reaches out to receive competitive offers from several vendors for the items or services that they must purchase. The RFQ Associate works with customers and vendors to provide the prices and delivery times for the item quantities that are requested to include standardize vendor pricing. Ability to research current market pricing for request for quotations.
Daily duties and responsibilities, including, but are not limited to:
- Gather required data for quote preparation.
- Research competitive market prices online and through email for quality products to supply to customers and vendors.
- Update RFQ (request for quote) files with market and vendor’s prices.
- Prepare and maintain quotations utilizing the ERP Software while supporting and increasing effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
- Ensure a monthly price review on contracted items is completed.
- Cross train to support team members as needed.
- Follow-up with customers and vendors via email and/or telephone on a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with M/S Office (Power-point, Excel, Word, Adobe) applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, ability to work independently, and strong interpersonal skills required
- Ability to be flexible and work in a high-pressure environment and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Knowledge of the ERP Software, preferred
- Associate Degree or above in Business or relative experience for over 1-2 years
- Typing: 40 wpm
Physical demands and abilities:
- Work is performed within a general office environment
- Traveling to and from businesses
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and reach
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear
