Position Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the consolidated month end closing and to compile and publish the monthly financial package. The position will ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures through the review and approval of invoices.  Responsible to communicate with all departments to address and resolve issues identified during the invoice review.

 Essential Functions

Corporate:

  • Manage the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
  • Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management

EHS:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Meets company safety goals

 Technical:

  • Review / Audit invoices and journal entries to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Review of selected balance sheet accounts to ensure proper financial statement recognition in accordance with GAAP.
  • Post monthly amortization for prepaid expenses and accrual; treat the subsequent processing of related invoice.
  • Prepare and publish monthly closing schedule and manage SAP user access during close process.
  • Prepare and publish the consolidated monthly financial statements (Income Statement & Balance Sheet).
  • Responsible for reversal of departmental accruals as needed and update of Accrual Log report.
  • Interface for financial Insurance coverage & processing of quarterly invoices (insurance audit interface).
  • Prepare for and confirm inter-company / related party transaction reconciliation.
  • Assist Tax Withholding worksheet with monthly transactions.
  • File Georgia Sales & Use Tax returns (monthly) and train employees as needed on sales tax accrual process.
  • File various Governmental Census reports (currently 6 Annual and Quarterly Surveys).
  • Audit Lead with external auditors (reviewer of draft financials and accompanying footnote disclosures).
  • Lead for annual 1099 processing.
  • Finance & Accounting departmental budget management.
  • Assist monthly forecasting in financial statements.
  • Assist with annual inventory audit.
  • Lead Warranty Reserve analysis and computation
  • Prepares tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules
  • Prepares Sales, material, labor costs and SG&A expense analysis reports
  • Establish Monthly and annual business plan
  • Cost accounting knowledge needed 
  • Prepares inventory analysis reports and reports for slow moving and obsolete materials 
  • Conduct monthly standard cost update and Cost closing  

 Leadership:

  • Work with Finance Team and across all departments to improve accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Lead special projects assigned to Finance & Accounting Department as needed.
  • Promotes a positive workplace through communicating specifically and with respect. 
  • Supports all activities regarding internal and external audits.

 Education

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4 Year Degree in Accounting or Finance (advanced Degree Preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years similar work experience in finance or accounting field required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and possess the basic ability to read, write and communicate in English. 
  • Must satisfactorily complete HTGP hiring process requirements, which includes phone interview, in-person interview, medical and functional assessment, drug screen and background check. 
  • Candidates must be able to work some overtime hours and occasional weekend days. 
  • Candidates must be capable of working on their feet for long periods, demonstrating hand dexterity and tolerating repetitious work patterns.
