Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join a dynamic dental office. The ideal candidate will have previous dental office experience and excel in providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during various dental procedures, presenting treatment plans, and providing specialized care for pediatric patients. Proficiency in EagleSoft dental software, experience with prophylaxis, charting teeth, orthodontic procedures, radiology certification, CPR certification, and EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) experience are highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Chairside Assistance:
Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Hand instruments and materials to the dentist as needed.
Provide suction and retraction support to ensure patient comfort and clear visibility.
Presenting Treatment Plans:
Communicate treatment plans to patients, explaining procedures and associated costs.
Address patient questions and concerns, helping them make informed decisions about their oral health.
Pediatric Experience:
Offer specialized care and attention to pediatric patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
Assist in educating young patients about oral hygiene and preventive measures.
EagleSoft Proficiency:
Utilize EagleSoft dental software effectively for patient scheduling, record-keeping, and billing.
Manage patient charts, treatment histories, and appointments in the system.
Prophylaxis and Dental Cleanings:
Perform dental prophylaxis and cleanings to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
Remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth, providing gentle yet thorough cleaning.
Teeth Charting and Orthodontic Procedures:
Chart teeth conditions and treatment plans accurately for reference and record-keeping.
Assist in orthodontic procedures, such as fitting bands, brackets, and wires.
Radiology Certification:
Capture high-quality dental radiographs while adhering to safety guidelines.
Ensure proper maintenance and sterilization of radiology equipment.
CPR Certification and EFDA Experience:
Be trained and certified in CPR to handle emergencies effectively.
Utilize Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) skills when required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous dental office experience is required.
Pediatric dental experience is preferred.
Proficiency in using EagleSoft dental software.
Proven ability to perform prophylaxis and dental cleanings.
Familiarity with teeth charting and orthodontic procedures.
Radiology certification to capture dental radiographs.
CPR certification to handle emergency situations.
EFDA experience will be considered a significant advantage.
