Director of Operations
Position Summary:
The i3 Academy Director of Operations will be responsible for systems, processes, and procedures to enable educators at i3 Academy to pursue the mission of the school: to empower learners to be agents of change for the problems they see in their world. The Director of Operations will manage all aspects of network operations and lead the overall efficiency of i3 Academy, anticipating problems before they occur and responding to problems as they arise to create an environment where educators and learners can do their best work. I3 Academy is a startup school and will require highly flexible problem-solvers who are willing to go above and beyond.
Operational Functions
Safety and Emergency Management
Implement safety and security procedures, policies, and trainings
Conduct safety compliance activities (compliance monitoring, inspections, drills)
Coordinate with Lead Nurse on operations related to student health
Coordinate security services and contracts
Support and train Principals and Assistant Principals on required school safety routines.
School Facilities and Materials
Manage site level procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and inventory management
Manage all aspects of the school facilities including but not limited to: building access, building aesthetics, landscape maintenance, building use, ordering supplies, security equipment, and preventive maintenance schedules
Prepare reports for compliance monitoring, emergency management, and compliance activities related to safety and facilities
Compliance and Data Management
Leads data entry reporting for required ALSDE reports
Manages stakeholder survey program
Leads charter school compliance with the Alabama Public Charter School Commission (managing Anvilar platform, providing needed academic and operational reports)
Leads compliance monitoring on a five year cycle
Leads accreditation processes and re-accreditation as needed
Ensures compliance for federal grants (Title I-III, Special Education, and other awarded grants)
Supports compliance with awarded grant programs
Food Service
Liaise with food service vendors and support to build smooth and efficient operations for food service.
Support for food service reimbursement and health and safety compliance.
Student Transportation
Manage all aspects of transportation program including but not limited to: establishing bus routes, procedures for student safety, point of contact for all transportation contractors
Manage the design and implementation of school carpools and traffic flow
Enrollment and Registration Logistics
Creates efficient systems and procedures for smooth enrollment and registration logistics in Powerschool.
Instructional Operations
Coordinate with instructional staff and Principals to develop school calendars and schedules annually
Support principals in the coordination of the operations (schedule, food service, etc) of special events such as: School visits, Professional Development days, Meet the teacher, Open Houses
Support principals in the coordination of field trips (transportation booking processes)
Support Principals in operations of after school care and summer learning programs (registration, schedules, staffing)
Staff Development and Human Resource Operations
Manages the overall operations of human resource flow and management of candidates through the candidate pipeline from application to onboarding
Assist in the hiring and selection process of designated non-instructional staff and contracts
Leads professional development for staff on new and existing operational procedures including but not limited to: safety plans, carpool/transportation procedures, schedules
Lead annual performance reviews for non-instructional staff
Oversee absence and substitute teacher management utilizing Frontline solution
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School. *i3 Academy is a start-up environment and may require acceptance of responsibilities not assigned in this job description.
Qualifications:
Education: Masters Degree Preferred
