What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Associate 1 position at i3 Assembly?
JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Under the supervision of the Director, Supply Chain, the Inventory Associate 1 will be responsible for performing various routine duties pertaining to inventory management. Handles transactions within the supply crib, keeps records for material ordering and receiving, ensure cribs and floor fill are areas are appropriately stocked, issues material to work orders, and controls material (direct and indirect), parts, chemistries, and tools. Responsible for and participates in cycle counting, replenishment at point of use, parts identification, and general housekeeping. To excel in this key role, you must be able communicate clearly. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow all required Safety and Security Procedures; perform all work in a safe manner.
- Receive purchased material from receiving checks for accuracy on counts and enters information into Intuitive and places materials into corresponding locations.
- Maintains inventories on parts, tools and equipment.
- Handles and disposes of hazardous materials and recyclable materials per applicable state and federal guidelines.
- Return material to supplier or shipping parts out for repair/calibration.
- Perform cycle counts and report stock balance discrepancies to Manager for resolution.
- Locate stock, issue, and deliver items to their destination outside of crib per engineer requirements or production order BOM.
- Practices good housekeeping cleans and organizes storeroom as directed, including sweeping, scraping, etc.
- Shall assist other personnel and production areas as directed/assigned.
- Takes initiative to explore and suggest new approaches that can impact quality and/or quantity of job performance and organizational effectiveness.
- Will be required to participate in physical inventory at year end.
- Perform sales transactions.
- Responsible to pick kits, fill back orders.
- May include other duties as assigned and/or special projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in part identification.
- Experience using an inventory management database system and/or the ability to demonstrate an aptitude for picking up new systems quickly.
- Well versed / or Ability to learn the operation of supply cribs and cost savings programs.
- Prior Teamwork experience and strong customer service skills.
- Attention to detail; counting accuracy.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with little to no supervision.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must be a team player, able to interface with all areas of the plant and think out of the box.
- Counting orders and taking stock counts.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Basic math skills
- Experience with Computers
- Experience using ERP / MRP systems a plus (Intuitive systems)
- Experience in Excel & Word
PHYSICIAL/ENVIRONMENTS REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged standing with occasional walking.
- Carrying/lifting of up to 10lbs frequently, 35lbs.
- 50lbs occasionally, and heavier weights with assistance.
- Occasionally using hand trucks, fork-lifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, chemicals, mineral fibers and moist or dry climate.
- Must be able to work with or around chemicals and loud noises.
- Experience in operating a carousel.
- Must be able to wear required safety protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, glasses, and ESD coats.
- May work in a clean room environment and wear clean room attire.
HOURS:
- FULL-TIME / DAYS Workhours - 7:30 Am to 4:00 Pm.
- Overtime may be required at times including Saturdays.
