What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deal Entry Clerk position at Iapetus Holdings LLC Career Center?
In this Deal Entry Clerk role, you will provide support to energy brokers to ensure accurate entry of trades and deals. This is an in-office role working market hours. This position will report into our ERCOT desk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate entry of trades into various clearing platforms within the regulatory-mandated timeframe.
- Work closely and effectively with team colleagues, the business and other support functions to provide a high standard of trade support.
- Ensure that all trades are booked properly in the internal deal capture software
- Identify and resolve workflow issues and liaise with internal/external departments and clients to prevent business interruption.
- Adhere to clearing and reporting processes to prevent errors or defaults
· Perform back office controls across daily trading activities and regulatory monitoring; check in an accurate and timely fashion
· Maintain applicable spreadsheets to support the brokerage business
· Ensure that all confirmations are timely delivered to the client, via fax or E-Mail
- Liaise with brokers and/or customers to promptly and efficiently resolve any confirmation complications
For this role, you will need:
- High school diploma or GED
· Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or business-related major preferred.
· High level attention to detail involving repetition
- Solid underlying knowledge of various products in the energy space.
- Strong Knowledge of trade entry into CME Direct and Ice Block
- Effective and efficient communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a Middle Office or Operations role
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities along with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to research an issue across sources to identify plans to deliver. A high level of attention to detail. An ability to pick up and learn systems, trade flows and concepts quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships both internally and externally to collaborate effectively.
- Proficient with Google and Microsoft Office products
