Custom Assembler will be responsible for performing a variety of diversified sub and medium to heavy-duty final assembly operations on our overhead switchgear product line. In this role, you will perform some complicated sub-assembly and final assembly operations, which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components, usually limited to a specific standard procedure - on a repetitive basis making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. In this function you will:
- will be responsible follow established standard working procedures & instructions including visual operating procedures, drawings, and other building documents
- You will set up a workstation to facilitate easier assembly and operate independently or on a group basis
- You will complete paperwork, enter labor, confirm production and move products to outgoing materials zone
- You will screen defective parts or make adjustments as necessary and report out any concerns to Team Leader or Supervisor
- You will collaborate with QA/Engineering with problem-solving for new product development as necessary and provide suggestions for improvements when approrpriate
- You will partner with other departments as needed for advice and suggestions toward continuous improvement initiatives
- You will be responsible for your work, under minimal supervision and instructions.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using SAP
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment position Success Criteria:
- Ability to use and operate necessary or required equipment (various hand and air tools & overhead crane/hoists), products, and assembly procedures.
- Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blueprints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting this position.
- Must be able to walk/stand for an 8 hours shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to lift 48lbs and push/pull 48 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
