LPN Nephrology Clinic

IMC is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in our Nephrology Clinic. The

LPN must be able to recognize/identify, report and document changes in

patient’s condition and comply with all hospital and departmental policies.

Ensure that all exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies as well as

assist physician/NP in clinic. Assist MD with phone calls to

patients/caregivers and pharmacies. The LPN must have knowledge of

medications administered as well as appropriately document any sample

medications disbursed in clinic. A log of all sample medications are to

be keep current and any expired medications to be disposed of according to

hospital policy. The LPN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to

provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related

criteria for the adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of a state approved LPN school of nursing Hold a current LPN License in the State of Louisiana Previous experience in physician office setting or in Nephrology preferred, but not required Knowledge of anatomy.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology EHR knowledge

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates respect for patients and

families. Maintains and protects confidentiality

regarding all aspects of patient care. Applies the nursing process to each

patient and implements nursing actions. Identifies patient and family education

needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates’ education needs

according to the age of the patient. Participates in planning of patient’s

discharge needs and readiness for discharge. Participates in departmental and hospital

improvement plan. Functions as a positive role model for

peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical

Center . Maintains confidentiality, security, and

integrity of patient and organizational data. Consistently lives by Iberia Medical
