Job Description
Arcadis is growing! Arcadis USA is seeking an ITS Engineer to join our ITS (Intelligent transportation systems) team in Seattle, USA. This role sits within the Global Intelligence Business Area. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team, where you will assist in developing and implementing intelligent transportation solutions. In this role, you will apply fundamental ITS engineering principles to a variety of projects whilst it also provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolving field of ITS, leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and safety.
Role Accountabilities:
- The candidate transportation/ITS engineer will perform the specific duties as follows:
- Program Management: Oversee and coordinate ITS projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and objectives.
- Consulting and Evaluations: Provide expert advice to clients on ITS solutions. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of transportation systems to identify improvement areas.
- Design and Implementation: Develop detailed ITS designs involving traffic systems, toll collection, and traffic management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with clients, community members, and stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into project designs.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Address and resolve complex issues within ITS deployments, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Data Analysis and Strategy: Analyze transportation data to derive insights and strategies. Understand and articulate the data needs for future transportation solutions.
- Emerging Technologies and Trends: Show a keen interest in emerging technologies in ITS and applying these technologies to current and future projects.
- Preparation of proposals to obtain new work
The estimated salary range for this position is between $96,000 - $105,000 USD
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate must have:
- A degree in either Civil, Transportation or Electrical Engineering;
- A Professional Engineering (PE) certification would be advantageous;
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of transportation engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems;
- Knowledge of Michigan Department of Transport (MDOT) and federal regulations, standards and procedures;
- Experience in using AutoCAD, MicroStation advantageous, as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerBI;
- Substantial experience in dealing with both public sector and private sector agencies; and
- Demonstrable excellent oral and written communications skills.
