What are the responsibilities and job description for the Circuit Design Researcher IBM Quantum (Yorktown Heights, NY) position at IBM?
Introduction
As a Hardware Developer at IBM, you’ll get to work on the systems that are driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. Join an elite team of engineering professionals who enable IBM customers to make better decisions quicker on the most trusted hardware platform in today’s market.
Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for talented designers to join the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, to contribute to the development of advanced high-performance quantum circuits and exploratory technologies. We focus on circuit designs that enable the creation of differentiated solutions for a range of Quantum devices. Key areas of interest include analog circuits, josephson junction and SFQ device and circuit design. Because the work will involve exploratory technologies, it requires a deep understanding of the interaction between circuits and devices. Past experience in circuit design in exploratory technologies, such as superconducting circuits, is desirable (but not required), as is experience in high-speed integrated circuit design and test. The candidate should have strong hands-on lab skills. A track record of completing complex integrated circuit designs demonstrating innovative elements is also desirable. We are looking for a team player with strong writing and presentation skills, able to create and communicate technical ideas, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. This job will entail driving the development of new intellectual property. The candidate should have experience with relevant development tools, including Cadence and possibly Mentor, ADS, HFSS, and other industry standard tools. The candidate must be able to work successfully with a diverse and dynamic team of both operational and technical personnel, collaborate with team members, work independently, and take own initiative
