What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Technician Level 2 - 2nd Shift position at IBML - Imaging Business Machines?
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be able to understand instructions as dictated by Press Brake Technicians 3 and shop supervisors
- Keeping machines free and clear of dust and debris
- Keeping the machines aligned properly with regards to tooling
- Must have a basic understanding of the concept of building mechanical parts and basic knowledge and understanding as well as how to use measuring equipment.
- Must be able to work with QA dept. on measuring and discussing part accuracy and part quality with regards not only to compliance but also aesthetics and workmanship.
- Verifies that completed shop order operations have all necessary information filled out
- Maintains the general cleanliness of all work areas and assures that all work areas are orderly, secure and safe to work in
- Provides information to Fabrication Manager for the maintenance of product routings
- Must be able to send programs down to the Press Brakes from PC and to PC from Press Brake.
- Must be able to set up all jigs and fixtures to run various IBML production parts
PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A 2 year technical degree is preferred for this position but not required. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and work experience is acceptable
- Must possess proficient and knowledgeable skills for electrical and/or mechanical assemblies and possess excellent eye hand dexterity
- Familiar with Amada press brake equipment, specifically NC9-EX controller, or equivalent machinery
- Familiar with bending parts to meet /- 1/2' angle tolerance
- Familiar with bending parts to meet /- .005" flange length tolerance
- Basic math skills
- Good hand/eye dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently
- Realistic scheduling and observance of deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- This position requires standing for long periods of time, sitting at a workbench and bending.
- Ability to be flexible and exhibit a positive attitude towards change and improvement
- Ability to work in a team environment and work well with others
