About the Role
iCapital’s Reporting department provides private fund reporting support to its rapidly growing investor base. This role will be responsible for the review and distribution of private fund capital event and performance updates for private equity and hedge fund-of-funds/feeder funds. This position will regularly interact with industry leading wire houses, as well as investment and accounting professionals, at the underlying private equity and hedge funds. This role will report to the Head of the Reporting Team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a Reporting team based in Greenwich, CT.
- Work as part of a team of investment professionals responsible for the review of client reports for private equity, real estate, secondary, and credit fund-of-funds/feeder funds.
- On a quarterly basis, review, digest, and extract information from reports provided by the underlying private equity sponsors to draft concise, informative updates for our access fund investors.
- Prepare, analyze, and review quantitative fund and portfolio company performance information for inclusion in investor reports. Liaise with administrators to determine correct quantitative data for reporting purposes and be able to understand portfolio company performance and fund valuation drivers.
- Coordinate internal Compliance review and approvals.
- Ensure timely distribution of reports to clients and relationship managers.
- Manage and lead staff by planning and evaluating department activities. Maintain staff by recruiting and training employees.
- Administer and review monthly Hedge Fund fact card reporting.
- Review capital call and distribution notices to investors.
- Maintain ongoing communication with underlying financial sponsors regarding portfolio activities and their impact on valuation, develop growth opportunities.
- Coordinate periodic investment portfolio and valuation reviews alongside other members of the team.
- Serve as a private equity product specialist in connection with requests for information from relationship managers and clients (i.e., fund performance, capital calls, and other fund-related activities), as well as fund performance update meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience with report writing, investor communications and possess strong finance and business writing skills
- 10-15 years’ relevant experience preferably with hedge fund, private equity, and/or real estate industry experience
- Motivated, have strong management skills, detail oriented, and must be able to independently solve problems
- Strong knowledge of Excel and have experience with presentation of data to varied consumers
- Strong communication skills and be able to successfully work together with external partners, internal business, and finance managers on a global basis
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments with excellent time management skills
- Proactive team player and leader with a positive attitude, willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and get the job done, and a desire to work in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
- Microsoft office skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
