Design Lead
The Design Lead plays a vital role in the Marketing team, they develop and manage the creative workflows and departmental outputs, elevating the standards of such deliverables, to meet and exceed client expectations.
The Design Lead supports a diverse range of creative projects and amplifies how we connect our brands to its target audience through design. This role balances both the creative strength and the leadership aptitude to mentor the internal and external resources which encompass the creative department.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and complete creative projects and campaigns, meeting their delivery dates and expectations while maintaining the highest design standards
- Assist in gathering project information and writing creative briefs
- Designing and producing visually appealing static and interactive campaigns for OOH, digital, print, TV, and social media.
- Actively participate in meetings regarding strategy and approach to create competitive campaigns with client markets.
- Creating and storyboarding ad campaigns with the support of the team.
- Review design work to ensure the accuracy and quality of all materials produced.
- Conducting a final quality review of all creative before the Director of Marketing reviews.
- Supervising and mentoring the design team on methods to improve design, technique, and audience fit while keeping them accountable to their deadlines.
- Creating engaging visuals that convey complex messaging to a variety of audiences and readers.
- Ensuring the integrity of the client's brands is maintained, including the identity, brand, messaging, and imagery.
- Populating and maintaining creative cloud-based file structure and naming conventions.
- Monitor projects and workloads, adjusting tasks and deadlines accordingly.
- Stay on top of all trends and maintain best practices, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of design applications to assist the development of other team members' skills.
Role Competencies
- Must be deadline-driven and be able to complete project deliverables while overcoming roadblocks
- Demonstrate a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude that is necessary to evolve a brand or project
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
- Proven working experience as Creative Lead, Senior Graphic Designer, or Jr. Art Director
- Hands-on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection, and package design
- Proficient use of visual design software and wire-framing tools
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
