Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our medical/surgical team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse in the medical/surgical unit, you will be responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify healthcare needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders with precision and attention to detail.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' conditions, documenting observations accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Provide education to patients and their families on post-treatment care and recovery strategies.
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws and assist with other diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Cerner for accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred.
- Familiarity with senior care, DME, ICU, and teaching hospital environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, venipuncture, and ophthalmology procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in toddler care is beneficial but not required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required; current RN license in [State].
- CPR certification and ACLS preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
